Lasers Eye Surgeons and the LASIK Surgery Our eyes are one of the most important senses of the human body. It houses one of the five major senses which is the sense of sight. This allows the human being to see the wonderful things around her or him. This also allows us to appreciate all the wonderful creations, helps us identify and define the colors that we see from day to day. When a person is young it has a normal vision which is around 20/20 however as an individual grows old, damage to the nerves and some ailments sets in. One of the most common optical disabilities is when the human eyes start to loss its vision or what we called presbyopia. There is also a condition in which laser eye surgeons called as the clouding of the eye or commonly known as cataract. Others may suffer degenerative visual loss such as hypermyopia, myopia or astigmatism. Whatever conditions a human person may suffer, it still requires urgent attention by a specialist. As a person may age the eye sight may diminish and may need correction glasses such as the aforementioned hypermyopia (farsightedness), myopia (nearsightedness) or even astigmatism which causes severe headache. However ,other conditions such as cataract and even glaucoma need special treatment or what they call as eye surgery.

Surgery is used in order to correct or alter the changes that had happened in the human eyes. In cases of vision loss, eye surgery works mainly in the corneal part of the eye in order to restructure the lens and return the vision to normal. In cases of glaucoma, an eye surgical procedure is also employed however it focuses on the draining the vitrous humor fluid which was trapped in the eyes. Glaucoma usually is a condition brought upon by diabetes mellitus. With the advent of technology, there are a lot of eye procedures that had been developed already in order to address the different disorders that may arise. One of the most commonly heared procedure is Laser-assisted in Situ Keratomileusis or LASIK. This procedure is solely focused on the disorders which affects the error of refraction such as, hypermyopia, myopia and astigmatism. A laser is used by the surgeon in order to reshape the human cornea. Thanks to this procedure, persons which has very severe hypermyopia, myopia or astigmatism will not have a problem wearing uncomfortable eyeglasses. Side effects of this procedure however may include appearance of stars bursting, halos, problems driving at night and dryness of the eye.
